earlier today, i was watching a random morning show on the tv and they had annie leibowitz on talking about her new book that was just released. seeing her talk about her body of work reminded me of a photographer that started out as her intern, but who’s work has now graced the covers of vanity fair and rolling stone. danny clinch is the man behind the photos used for the last seven john varvatos campaigns. having studied photography in school and making my own attempts at a couple documentary style bodies of work on local live music acts, i quickly grew to appreciate danny clinch and his work. his approach and eye for his subjects have always left me wanting to see more.
