sadly, fashion week for me this year is pretty much like any other week, except that i’m spending an inordinate amount of time glued to style.com.  there have definitely been some exciting things so far.  a few picks…  rodarte, of course. they’ve stayed very much in the vein of their recent collections.  amazing texture.  i would totally kill for one of these shaggy sweater things.  they have a really fantastically subtle sense of color.  i tend to be drawn to the mostly black ones.  can’t help it.  but a large part of the collection is shades of gray punctuated with metallic jewel tones.  i’ll be waiting for someone to come up with a diy version of these strappy thigh high boots…

jill stuart…  i like a lot.  it’s not groundbreaking, but it’s just sort of perfect and easy to wear.  the collection was inspired by “iconic women of music.”  it’s split between dark more “rock chick” i guess, looks, and lighter stevie nicks boho type things.  i think my favorite look from all the collections so far is the one pictured center here.  i love that it’s basically a big ruffle dress, but manages to look cool, and not too girly.  the proportion of the necklace with it also is just fantastic.

and last for now, charlotte ronson.  i like this a lot.  so much so that i’m willing to set the whole jcpenney thing aside.  i know i’m probably in the minority, but i’m kind of getting tired of the hype surrounding diffusion lines.  and especially diffusion of diffusion lines… but anyway, this is just cool.  you’ve got the whole glove and ankle boot thing going on that’s also happening at jill stuart.  a lot of very cool detailing.  i would love to wear any and all of these looks.
